The Neighborhood Service Center, Inc. (NSC) is one of this year’s 22 United Fund participating agencies, providing a wide range of services and assistance to low income individuals, senior citizens and families of Talbot County. The assistance from the United Fund directly funds the NSC Food Pantry, Holiday Giving and Emergency Services.
With its mission to improve the quality of life, both socially and economically, for low income residents of Talbot County who need a helping hand, NSC annually assists hundreds of Talbot County residents with clothing, food, heating, rent, shelter and utilities. One recent client of NSC was quoted as saying “I want to thank you all so much; without the Neighborhood Service Center, my family would have been evicted”. That’s the kind of expression of gratitude that the staff and volunteers are accustomed to hearing because it means that the mission to help has been accomplished.
With the holiday season fast approaching and as the days and nights grow colder, the Neighborhood Service Center is experiencing an increase in the need for services.
Year round, NSC accepts donations of food, new and gently worn clean clothing, items for kids such as toys, games and books, and is grateful for the much needed support from the United Fund of Talbot County.
