The United Fund of Talbot County serves as the only local philanthropic organization to support underfunded health and human services needs through many charities in Talbot County. Currently, there are 22 participating non-profit agencies that have passed the annual stringent review in order to receive your donations and deliver programs and services for our local individuals and families in need.
United Fund agencies help residents lead more productive, self-sufficient and healthier lives. For example, the Neighborhood Service Center assists families who need food or help paying utility bills. Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers ensure children receive quality care and education. BAAM, CASA of Talbot County and Talbot Mentors all help at-risk youth; Upper Shore Aging addresses the needs of seniors, and the list goes on.
Every gift matters. Thanks to the support of both returning and new contributors, the 2011-12 annual campaign has so far raised 60% toward its $450,000 goal. “We are delighted by the continued strong flow of donations,” Ann Jacobs, United Fund of Talbot County Executive Director said, “but we still have a long way to go in reaching the 2011-12 campaign goal.” Most of the participating agencies are small with limited resources and rely heavily on the United Fund. They would be severely impacted without the generous support of our community. With the holidays here, please make this the season for year-end giving with the gift of hope and help for these deserving people.
